‘The whole church for the whole city’

Over 42 churches around the city from every denomination are coming together for a week of prayer, Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, Quakers, Roman Catholic, Salvation Army, United Reformed and Free churches. The city of Exeter is the focus of 24/7 prayer in 20 - 27 November.

In 2009 Churches of all denominations across Devon are celebrating 1100 years of the westward expansion of Christianity from Sherborne to Devon. Soul Survivor and Nightchurch are hosting a worship party at Exeter Cathedral on Friday, 26 June 2009 from 7. Go>

Youth Pilgrimage

As part of the celebrations, we are going to recreate the journey of the founding Bishop and in Holy Week 2009 (5 – 9 April) walk from Sherborne Abbey in Dorset to Crediton, the original home of the Diocese. Go>

From the end of April our three Bishops will be going out across the county to live, listen, talk and be with the people of Devon. Go>

Call to Prayer / Fasting

The Bishop together with the Devon Church leaders issued a call to prayer and fasting for Christians in the county at the beginning of Lent (end of February 2009). Go>

Celebration Day

On 27 June 2009, at Exeter Cathedral and surrounding areas, we are planning for the arrival of 2000 – 4000 pilgrims from various denominations. Go>

Children`s Art Exhibition

An exhibit of art from 110 schools across Devon took place at Exeter Cathedral in early June 2009 around the theme of Colours of Devon – Heaven in Devon. Go>
