Local Mission and Growth Fund Application (76 KB)
The Diocese of Exeter is setting aside a fund of with an initial total of approaching
£600,000 over three years exclusively to support local mission initiatives.

Who can apply?
Mission Communities in the Church of England Diocese of Exeter.

What sort of thing is this for?

Applications should relate to at least one of the following aspects of growth:
a. Growing Congregations: (Fresh Expressions, Discipleship, etc)
b. Growing Resources: (adapting church buildings for missional use, equipment, etc)
c. Growing Young People: (children and youth work)
d. Growing Spiritually: (journeying, prayer, worship, development courses)
e. Growing in the World: (social action, justice and environment work)
f. Growing Lay Ministry: (training, teaching, pastoral care, family work)
It might be to start off a new mission post, fit out a dedicated space for a new Fresh
Expressions gathering or support an evangelistic event. The only limitation is your own
creativity – anything that will grow Christ’s church counts!
You can apply for a grant, an interest free loan, or a mixture of the two.

Where does this money come from?
It is effectively a significant part of the Church Commissioners’ grant to the diocese, which
is being put into this fund at the initial rate of £200,000 over the next few years.

How do we apply?
Download the application form and some guidance notes from the right.

Questionnaire: Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts (42 KB)
This questionnaire is only a starting point to set you thinking. Talk about the way you have scored with your friends. It is sometimes easy to mislead yourself in this sort of exercise – we are not always aware of our strengths. You could use this as a basis of discussion at a group meeting. The important point is that the Spirit has given each of us something very special – recognise it, value it, develop it – USE IT!
