Night-time outreach events in Exeter Cathedral.

Church for the unchurched: a home for spiritual searchers who find that traditional church has, for them, become a barrier and not a gateway to the living God.

Nightchurch gathers Friday nights from 8 - 10.30 pm, intending to be primarily a way back to God for Generation X and Y (those born after 1960), but is open to all. If it grows, Nightchurch will become another congregation of the Cathedral community who happen to gather together on Fridays and not Sundays.

Rooted in the Cathedral’s aim to be a centre for worship, teaching and mission, Nightchurch is a joint partnership between the Diocese and Cathedral and will be funded by them and a grant from the St Luke’s Foundation in the first 3 years. The Pioneer Team Coordinator is Steve Jones who has previously worked as a church planter in Glasgow and more recently as Youth Advisor for Exeter Diocese. He is an experienced trainer and leader. This fresh expression of Church is overseen by the Canon Missioner and a management board.
